Cardinal Golf Course, located near Lake Sara in Effingham, Illinois features 5,899 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Cardinal golf course opened in 1967. Justin Jiles, Golf Professional, manages the public course.

The 9-hole Fore-Way Golf Course in Effingham, IL is a public golf course that opened in 1994. Fore-Way Golf Course measures 2918 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 108 and a 32.5 USGA rating.

Effingham Country Club offers an 18-hole private golf course and features 6,221 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 70.1 and it has a slope rating of 119.

TREC Recreational Trail provides a great place for visitors to exercise, whether it is riding bikes, roller blading, or walking. The first phase of the trail was completed in 2010. Teutopolis is located near two large recreation centers - Lake Sara and Lake Shelbyville.
